German Railway 3 (ECx)

The aim of the investigation was to evaluate the proposed passenger coaches for the new ECx trains of DB-AG with regard to the possibilities for luggage accommodation, the achievable dwell time and the theoretically achievable seat occupancy rate.

Project description: Proposed passenger coaches for the new ECx trains of the DB-AG were evaluated with regard to the possibilities for luggage storage, the achievable dwell time and the theoretically achievable degree of seat utilisation. Based on the evaluations, recommendations were made to improve luggage accommodation and to reduce the dwell time.
