Client: SBB (Swiss Federal Railways); Sub for: TU Vienna, Research Center for Railway Engineering
Duration: 2011
Project description: The aim of the study was to evaluate two of the existing interior concepts for the new IC double-deck trains for SBB on the basis of the maquette created with regard to the possibilities for luggage accommodation and the associated influences on the expected possible seat occupancy rate, the passenger flows and the passenger exchange time and based on this, to point out optimisation potentials in the space concept for increasing the efficiency of luggage accommodation and for accelerating the passenger flows.
