Railway Boarding Technologies

Concrete measures have been developed to improve the accessibility of the Canadian rail operator VIA-Rail, especially for boarding the vehicle with wheelchairs.

Project description: The Canadian Ministry of Transport Canada wants to improve accessibility to the Canadian Railway for people with disabilities. In this respect, measures to improve accessibility especially for wheelchair access were developed and evaluated, particularly for VIA-Rail trains. In this regard, which entry-level systems are suitable for retrofitting were evaluated and concrete implementation recommendations were made.
