The aim of the study was to evaluate the proposed layouts of the ÖBB long-distance trains with regard to the possibilities for luggage accommodation, the achievable passenger exchange time and the theoretically achievable degree of utilisation.

Project description: Proposed layouts for ÖBB’s long-distance trains were evaluated with regard to the possibilities for luggage accommodation, the achievable passenger exchange time and the theoretically achievable degree of utilisation. Based on the evaluations, recommendations were made to improve the luggage accommodation and to reduce the passenger exchange time.
